Time Date Debian 9

#1 Post by Trok »

Hi!

Can't set time date Debian 9.

For example
put in console

root@cs8s:/#date -s "05 Oct 2017 09:11:00"
get:Thu Oct 5 09:11:00 +03 2017

root@cs8s:/#date
get:Thu Oct 5 16:05:58 +03 2017

Help to undestand what problem?

are you trying to set the correct time/date, or deliberately a wrong one?
is ntp/ntpd interfering? tried stopping it first?
what does debian wiki, and other web searches, say?

Have you checked the system time and date in the BIOS?

Mike
