Yes, your swap is not currently being used.

i don't can give to this machine more "Memory" RAM, it's a pakage and i can't give more.

i was thinking that if RAM space are gone, this will automaticaly cosider the Swap space.

i'ts no other way to forcing to use the Swap space ?

You do realize that virtual memory is way slower than your RAM, why do you want to force use swap if you have enough memory?

There may be a misunderstanding about the meaning of "used".
The swap is activated and available, but the system does not need to swap out data to it for now. So 0 swap space is used.
If you want your system to swap out data, you must use more memory, run more programs, read more files...
You can also increase its tendency to swap by increasing the value in /proc/sys/vm/swappiness.

Virtual memory is virtual, and as such has no intrinsic speed. RAM is a part of virtual memory.
Also, swap can be in RAM (see zram and zswap).

Hello p.H

And thank you for your answer !!

yes i know that the Ram are mutch faster then the Physical Swap space, i have here Virtual machine provided with 2 GB RAM, and i cant add more.
so i mentoined that if this are Limit arrived the Disk Swappines will be start. Also if not the quickest, are not the Probleme, but it will be help ..... :-)

Possible only for short time :-)

root@mail:/proc/sys/vm# cat swappiness
60

that are telling me ? no man i have found about man swappiness.
But yes you are true, and thanks for your more detailed help!

Any form of virtual memory is slower than physical memory, either by using compression or paging
I was more referring to swapping

Yes, but not "way slower" when the page is in RAM.

compression and decompression in RAM takes time and is only used in case of memory limits, it is slow :)))
