No front panel audio after upgrade to Stretch

#1 Post by wartisoc »

So I've finally decided to upgrade from Debian Jessie to Debian Stretch. After a few hours and a couple "minor" issues I reboot my PC and everything seems fine except connecting my headphones to the front panel isn't working. It was working before and connecting them to the rear panel works. Any ideas?.

Some relevant information:

Re: No front panel audio after upgrade to Stretch

Nevermind, using alsamixer solved the problem but only AFTER I restarted the PC yet again.

EDIT: OK, it seems I talked too soon. It's not that the problem got solved by restarting the PC, it's more that the front panel audio dies randomly, I can't pinpoint what triggers it but the rear panel audio continues to work. Weird. For the time being I've found that killing and restarting pulseaudio solves the problem, at least temporarily until the audio dies again.
