Debian 9 and windows 10 not talking

#1 Post by ltheoret »

Hi,

I installed debian 9 to be used as a home monitoring system.
Installed samba to share with windows. also installed ufw.
with ufw disabled windows 10 cannot access the shared drive. with ufw enabled I used to be able to access the shared drive with coxing . yesterday I could not access the shared drive but I could still access the network share. Now I cannot even access the network share. I can still ssh into it and the apache still works but no network access into it. Its not a local network issue as my raspberry pi sill shares and plays nicely.
any thoughts.

here is the share part of the config file. I changed the user name.

Code: Select all

[Share]
  comment=Debian User user Share
  path=/home/user/share
  browseable=Yes
  wrteable=Yes
  only guest=no
  create mask=0777
  directory meask=0777
  public=no

Hi,

Never mind. removed all shares rebooted everything (both computers) then redid the shares and it is now working.
