In the old days of sysvinit you could set up a few early tmpfs mounts in /etc/default/rcS or /etc/default/tmpfs.
But I do not know if system still uses it.
Anyway you can still set up tmpfs mounts in /etc/fstab.

So after typing

Code: Select all

tune2fs -O ^has_journal /dev/sdc1
(because with the live Mint USB and the HDD, the SD card is sdc), I get

Code: Select all

tune2fs: Filesystem has unsupported read-only feature(s) while trying to open /dev/sdc1
Couldn't find valid filesystem superblock.
EDIT: But it worked in live Debian!
