Graphic quality

#1 Post by daree »

hi

My laptop with full hd monitor

After i switched to linux for the first time, i noticed that the white color is very strong and blurry especially in firefox white areas compared to windows 10

However debian 9 scretch has recognized the intel hd 620 graphic card and seems everything works fine
desktop icons looks sharp and fine

I'll take another example to explain more

On linux when i create a texfile on the desktop, the font looks good and sharp, but the white sheet looks like it would not be full hd and too strong for the eyes.

is this normal or have to tune something

Let's see if it's really working like it's supposed to. Install inxi and report the output of

Code: Select all

inxi -G
Your hardware also very probably benefits from the firmware-misc-nonfree in stretch-backports, as well as intel-microde in the stretch non-free section, if they aren't installed.

i made netinstall with non-free iso . i do know about stretch backports
compared to windows 10 its little blurred my screen especially white color

here is the output
Graphics: Card: Intel Device 5916
Display Server: X.Org 1.19.2 drivers: modesetting (unloaded: fbdev, vesa)
Resolution: 1920x1080@60.05hz
GLX Renderer: Mesa DRI Intel HD Graphics 620 (Kabylake GT2)
GLX Version: 3.0 Mesa 13.0.6

still works correct?

https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/ICC_profiles

The GNOME desktop has profiles to match many displays, perhaps try that.

Or make your own: https://packages.debian.org/buster/gnome-color-manager
