Yes you are correct sorry about that.GarryRicketson wrote:Yea, but if you looked at the link, you would have seen it also includes options for stetch, and stretch-backports , in the upper right, the OP can select which one they want.
Still the same link, but with "stretch" in the url just in case the OP can't figure it out. https://packages.debian.org/stretch/firmware-realtek
I should have actually looked before I ran my lips.

Re: Are these error critical?
Probably your sources.list file is a mess, see:
https://wiki.debian.org/SourcesList
There are examples, the first example:
And
Are the same because in the first , you all ready point toward "main",
In the second , you point toward "main", again, and also the "contrib non-free"
Either one is ok , but not both, I avoid the "contrib non-free" my self, I guess you need it, ? I don't really know on that.
You probably do not need the "src" lines either, if you don't know what they are for, just remove them, you don't need them.
Probably something like this, is best for you:
But read the wiki, first, that is what it is for...
https://wiki.debian.org/SourcesList
There are examples, the first example:
You DO NOT use both examples, in 1 sources.list file, if you need the "contrib" and "non-free" , use that example.Example sources.list
Below is an example of a sources.list for Debian 9/Stretch.The second example:Code: Select all
deb http://deb.debian.org/debian stretch main deb-src http://deb.debian.org/debian stretch main deb http://deb.debian.org/debian-security/ stretch/updates main deb-src http://deb.debian.org/debian-security/ stretch/updates main deb http://deb.debian.org/debian stretch-updates main deb-src http://deb.debian.org/debian stretch-updates main
If you also need the contrib and non-free components, add contrib non-free after main. For example, for Debian 9/Stretch:Code: Select all
deb http://deb.debian.org/debian stretch main contrib non-free deb-src http://deb.debian.org/debian stretch main contrib non-free deb http://deb.debian.org/debian-security/ stretch/updates main contrib non-free deb-src http://deb.debian.org/debian-security/ stretch/updates main contrib non-free deb http://deb.debian.org/debian stretch-updates main contrib non-free deb-src http://deb.debian.org/debian stretch-updates main contrib non-free
Code: Select all
deb http://deb.debian.org/debian stretch main
Code: Select all
deb http://deb.debian.org/debian stretch main contrib non-free
In the second , you point toward "main", again, and also the "contrib non-free"
Either one is ok , but not both, I avoid the "contrib non-free" my self, I guess you need it, ? I don't really know on that.
You probably do not need the "src" lines either, if you don't know what they are for, just remove them, you don't need them.

Thank you for your useful information.
When I select below sources:
Then all standard Debian programs existed + non-free programs? Or it just a repository for "non-free" programs?
When I select below sources:
Code: Select all
deb http://deb.debian.org/debian stretch main contrib non-free
deb-src http://deb.debian.org/debian stretch main contrib non-free

Thank you, but I want to know if my source.list file is like below:
Then I can't install any program in "contrib" category? If yes, then I must add all components!!!
Code: Select all

No, because you should just install Ubuntuuu!!!!hack3rcon wrote: If yes, then I must add all components!!!
And on their forums, they love people who don't read manuals and wikis!!!
Us, not so much.

Re: Are these error critical?
It means exactly what it says, I really am starting to think you are a AI bot and playing games with us.
The only other explanation I can think of is you are not very good with English, and what ever language is your native language is not getting translated correctly, in which case you should tell us, what is your native language ?
Also a apology, if that is the case, but the most advanced AI bots, also have learned to use language as a excuse.

No, I'm not a bot and it is better to provide help not personal opinion.GarryRicketson wrote:It means exactly what it says, I really am starting to think you are a AI bot and playing games with us.

Re: Are these error critical?
Well, maybe you are not a bot, maybe you are, but in any event :
Then someone can edit it for you, and all you will need to do is copy/paste it back into your /etc/apt folder, using the same name "sources.list" for the file,..
Is quite clear, and any attempt to change the wording, would also change the meaning, I gave you links to examples, also tried my best to explain it, and yet you still can not understand it. The only other thing I know of, is for you show us your actual /etc/apt/sources.list file, please use code boxes when you post it."If you also need the contrib and non-free components, add contrib non-free after main."
Then someone can edit it for you, and all you will need to do is copy/paste it back into your /etc/apt folder, using the same name "sources.list" for the file,..
If that is your sources.list file , it should work, I don't know why you can not install any program in the "contrib" category, in fact to me that does not even make sense. Did you even try that example ? Show us the error messages, if it does not work.hack3rcon wrote:Thank you, but I want to know if my source.list file is like below:Then I can't install any program in "contrib" category? Look at mine, I have no idea what any of this is or if they can be resolved... I did "blacklist pcspkr" in /etc/modprobe.d/fbdev-blacklist.conf per a google search but it made zero difference and I didn't want to break my system so I gave up.
