[RESOLVED] File Manager as /

I tried to run Nemo under / and nothing came up.

I have my friend's laptop and he died. His son want the documents off his Win10 laptop. When I copy a file from it to my Desktop, that copied file is locked and cannot be viewed, etc.

I'ld be willing to try to change Win10 permissions using chmod/chown as well, but need some guidance to get started.
