Weird Wifi connection

Postby albradley » 2019-10-02 22:30

Hello, I am having a wifi problem. I can connect to the 5GHz at home (only when very close) but I cannot connect to the 2.4GHz at all. When I try to connect to the 2.4GHz it just keeps asking for the password. I have also taken the laptop to my university and it will connect to the university's wifi. I'm just wondering if there is a way to increase the range at home for the 5GHz and somehow connect to the 2.4GHz? Thanks.

Side note: I could connect to the 2.4GHz during the installation process of Debian but after I cannot!

Code: Select all
01:00.0 Network controller: Qualcomm Atheros AR9462 Wireless Network Adapter (rev 01)

Update: Turns out I can only connect to the University's wifi in specific building on campus and not others.

Update 2: It appears to be the same problem on every distro I have tried (fedora, ubuntu, arch).
