Screen is blinking? Problems installing Nvidia.

Postby bluetree » 2019-10-18 21:18

I got a new laptop recently. I installed windows and the screen was blinking. I looked it up and it said something about the display drivers but I disregarded it since I was installing Debian right away. Now that I have Debian it keeps blinking and I tried to install nvidia drivers but it made my entire computer unable to login so I had to purge nvidia in recovery mode.

We can't do much without any hardware information. Most laptops with Nvidia GPUs now have them as part of Optimus hybrid GPU systems, which needs a special install procedure, but again, no information in means no help out.
The MX Linux repositories: Backports galore! If we don't have something, just ask and we'll try--we like challenges. New packages: Chromium 78.0.3904.87, Hedgewars 1.0.0, PulseEffects 4.6.8, Telegram-desktop 1.8.15, Pale Moon 28.7.2, KeepassXC 2.5.0
