[Solved] Browse packages on Synaptic without authentication?

Postby Xeno Idaltu » 2020-02-20 01:18

OS: Debian Stable (Buster)
DE: KDE

I want to learn more on what I have on the system but sometimes I need to use sudo on the terminal and it won't allow me to for having Synaptic open.
Is there a way to browse around and only have Synaptic ask for authentication when making changes to the system?
KDE's Muon Package Manager does this and is very helpful.

Run this command as your normal user:
Code: Select all
/usr/sbin/synaptic
