[Closed]File Attachments

Postby jjanderson5 » 2021-01-09 15:28

I was in the process of posting a question in "General Quesions" forum, but I managed to solve my own problem and did not post.

But, while entering my post, I tried to attach a file, and no matter what name I used for the file, I got a message that the file extension was not acceptable, e.g. error.txt, or the filename, e.g. errorFile, was not acceptable.

I checked the FAQ section:

Attachments

What attachments are allowed on this board?
Each board administrator can allow or disallow certain attachment types. If you are unsure what is allowed to be uploaded, contact the board administrator for assistance.

I have searched this forum and not found anything about what, if any, attachments are allowed. It would be nice if the FAQ for this forum specifically addressed this issue, or maybe addressed it in the News & Announcments. My apologies if the documentation on this already exists, but I could not find it.

Jim

I don't think the boards accept any attachments at all but I've never actually tried.

For sharing images see viewtopic.php?f=16&t=123831 and for sharing text use the pastebinit package or see https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/li ... in_clients or just upload the file to a pastebin site manually.

I think [SOLVED] would be more useful than [Closed].
