[SOLVED] Video card driver problem
[SOLVED] Video card driver problem
Hello,
Sorry, I speak a little English.
I think not installed my video card driver in Asus notebook. The videos slow and not working the HDMI cable.
1. How to find video card type in terminal command?
2. How to install the video card driver?
Please help me. Thanks!

You probably already have a driver but not the firmware: http://forums.debian.net/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=142974sjsj wrote:How to install the video card driver?

Re: Video card driver problem
So you already have a kernel driver (i915) and I'm pretty sure Broadwell iGPUs don't need firmware.
Try removing the Intel DDX driver:
The modesetting DDX driver is supposed to work better for that graphics chip.
Try removing the Intel DDX driver:
Code: Select all
# apt purge xorg-xserver-video-intel

If I removing, better play stream videos (Netflix) and working HDMI cable?Head_on_a_Stick wrote:Try removing the Intel DDX driver

Re: Video card driver problem
I really don't know but it's worth a try.
How are you streaming NetFlix videos?
Are you sure the HDMI cable isn't broken?

Okay so you're already using the modesetting DDX driver. So much for that theory...

You seem to be using Wayland so follow those instructions.

Not working the touchpad. Why? Remove the xserver-xorg-video-intel. Is it the problem, maybe?
