How to remove apt-spy properly

when I did an apt-get update
I get this
E: Malformed line 9 in source list /etc/apt/sources.list.d/apt-spy.list (URI parse)

have you tried aptitude remove apt-spy?

I did. I did try "apt-get remove apt-spy" and apt-get purge apt-spy" but both gave the same result. I just want to go back to the original "sources.list" and not use the directory "sources.list.d". How to put it back where you can edit your own "/etc/apt/sources.list"

do cat /etc/apt/sources.list.d/apt-spy.list and post the output here

The directory is empty now and everything appears to be working. like "apt-get update" Thank you so much.
