I have a question about compiling and installing packages that are made from source code
I had read couple guides such as

I've tried to begin with installing firefox,which I downloaded from official site. I've passed all those archive stuff, but when I try to execute
./configure , I get "no such command error" And there's all I can get from it
For instance I also get some desktop theme from kdelooks,also packed source code,and command "./configure" on it works just perfect
But still I can't get nothing from "make" or "make install"
So what I wanted to ask was: Is there some good newbie-guides about this subject ?
I don't know,maybe console log helps
