Debian vs Arch

Hello everybody! I'm newbie in Debian, at the moment I enjoy Arch Linux, and I have a question. Are there something like AUR (Arch Linux User-community Repository) for building packages from binaries? Problem is that is I could not find Linux kernel for my laptop support (asus 1000he). Are there something Debian repos or something else?

The Archwiki says the stock 2.6.29 kernel works just fine.

So add deb http://www.backports.org/debian lenny-backports main contrib non-free to your /etc/apt/sources.list. Provides information regarding backports.

Then (if you are running 32-bit debian) aptitude update && aptitude -t lenny-backports install linux-image-2.6-686 linux-headers-2.6-686 to install the 2.6.30 kernel. reboot into the new kernel and hopefully all will be in order.
