Since i have upgraded swftfox to 3.6, java dosn't work. I have java-6-sun installed. i have tried http://dl.dropbox.com/u/2552069/java.sh ( there is newer version of java used), but it hasn't changed the fact, that java doesn't work. I have linked libnpjp2.so from java-6-sun, but result was the same. All the time, java is detected in about:plugins, and there are many position connected with it, but on pages containing applets i get errors or browser is being killed.
In Opera java is operative in newer and older versions, with older and newer '*.so' library.
i'm using 32 bit debian squeeze

Re: swiftfox 3.6 and java
haven't tried swiftfox in forever. But if the sun-java6-plugin is installed it should work.
Does it show up in about:plugins?
works just fine here with Mozilla Firefox
Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.2) Gecko/20100115 Firefox/3.6

Re: [solved]swiftfox 3.6 and java
yeah forgot about the annoying ipv6 crap.
The sysctl thing doesn't work here.
you can disable IPv6 in java by modifying ~/.java/deployment/deployment.properties the line:
deployment.javaws.jre.0.args=-Djava.net.preferIPv4Stack\=true
Seems to work just fine.
