Buy a laptop with a Debian OS ?

#1 Post by newbie »

Is there anywhere to purchase (or a best place to purchase) laptops with Debian pre-installed?

Thanks.

I know Dell delivers with Ubuntu. If you're hoping for working hardware, that's probably worth a try.

I don't know anything about these people but they specialise in Linux on laptops and there is a Debian option:-

Not what you're asking for, but the other way is to buy a Eee or similar netbook that has it's own sub distribution. I'm writing this on my Eee 701 and it was really easy to install. And it's cheap these days so even if you'd have to pay for some support you get away with a lower price.

System 76 sells a range of machines with Ubuntu installed. Given that fact installing Debian would not be difficult and hardware should work. They are based out of Denver Colorado USA. They maintain a support forum on the Ubuntu user's forum. I do not believe they ship internationally.
