Hi oospill,

What is it exactly that you want to do ? Are you installing a new system, or upgrading an old system ?
Easiest way to upgrade an existing system is using (as root) ' apt-get update' and 'apt-get upgrade' .
However, if you want to download the updates automatically using apt-get you need a working Debian system with an active internet connection.

Can you give a bit more information about what you want to do ?

Alex.
