Software that can't be authenticated

#1 Post by Rolling Stone »

Hello!

I just tried to install xbindkeys via Synaptic on Lenny but was greeted with this ominous dialog:

What's it all about?

Run aptitude (or apt-get) update, or Reload in Synaptic, and try again.

I have occasionally had a similar message, it seams to go away if you cancel then try again a bit later.

I suspect network connection problems fetching files related to security checking, or timing issues with the repository being updated.

You're both quite right. It fixed itself...

Something you would expect a user of another popular operating system to say.
