I'm trying to install Keepalived 1.1.19 (apt-get install keepalived results in v1.1.15), however my limited Debian/Linux knowledge prevents me from getting it to work.
What I've done so far:
- downloaded and untarred the 1.1.19 file from www.keepalived.org (to the /home/ folder)
- apt-get install gcc
- apt-get build-dep keepalived
- ./configure
- make
- make install
However there is no keepalived entry in /etc/init.d/ and I don't know how to start keepalived.
I tried copying the files from /usr/local/etc/keepalived to the appropriate folders (/etc/keepalived/keepalived.conf and /etc/init.d/keepalived), however with no success (can't find all the appropriate folders and can't find the keepalived.pid file).
I guess I have to install keepalived as a services (?), however I don't know how to do that.
If anybody could help me out, please.
