Hello,
I want to set proxy for debian lenny, I went to sys/pref/net proxy, but still APTITUDE does not use this setting.
Is it even possibile to set up proxy for global usage?

Does system/preff/network proxy affects anything
Re: Does system/preff/network proxy affects anything
The menu entry for proxy is a Gnome setting, not system wide, and it only affects Gnome apps.
If you want to use aptitude via a proxy then read man apt.conf and it will show you what to do, or read http://www.unixmen.com/linux-tutorials/ ... d-a-proxy-
