Need help with headphones on Asus laptop

Postby xze » 2010-04-09 00:45

I've had this issue before with a different laptop (Sony), but it was easily fixed by adding:
Code: Select all
options-snd-hda-intel model=vaio

to /etc/modprobe.d/modprobe.conf

Now, this Asus laptop has the same issue. Sound works fine. When I plug in the headhpones, sound comes out of both the internal speakers & the headphones; they don't mute.

I tried the below options to no avail:
Code: Select all
options-snd-hda-intel model=asus
options-snd-hda-intel model=asus-laptop
options-snd-hda-intel model=asus position_fix=1
options-snd-hda-intel model=asus-laptop position_fix=1
options-snd-hda-intel model=3stack

Code: Select all
lspci | grep Audio
00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation 5 Series/3400 Series Chipset High Definition Audio (rev 06)

Anyone have any ideas?
