After installing debian, can not access

#1 Post by vsgeping »

My wireless card: TP-LINK 322G +
I ask, after the installation is complete debian, how to configure wireless Internet access, thank you!

Can you give us the lspci entry for it? You'll probably need one of the firmware packages from non-free.

The kernel ships with various binary blobs, which are stripped out when the kernel's packaged for Debian; these blobs are put into various packages in non-free. They're needed because the hardware they support is incapable of storing anything after the power's shut off.

It would have been nice if you mentioned this was a USB device. I'm guessing on the chipset being used. If I'm correct the following should help:
ar9170usb - Debian Wiki

It looks like you need a newer kernel than the default in lenny.

What's the output of:

Code: Select all

dmesg|egrep "firmware|ar9170"
(after installing a newer kernel). The latest liquorix kernel may be the easiest way for you to resolve this. That may already include the required firmware.

Friend, I'm really happy, I am very aware

Code: Select all

dmesg|egrep "firmware|ar9170"
I'm sorry, I may not give the results of the command.

I now have two systems, because of work, I have networked, but not debian networking, so now use ubutnu.

I ask, can you give me a solution, please? I installed debian can immediately connect to the network, thank you.
