Unable to update Debian 4.0 on SunFire v210 with sparc

Hello to all,

i'm new in Debian OS so i nead help.

I got in my home datacentar in Croatia one SunFire server v210 (with sparc) with installed Debian OS v4.0

So i try to install some of components, and updates and when i call apt-get upgrade Debian OS dowload all updates from my source file but after that stop on error:

debconf: delaying package configuration, since apt-utils is not installed
dpkg: regarding .../base-files_7.1wheezy7_sparc.deb containing base-files:
package uses Breaks; not supported in this dpkg
dpkg: error processing /var/cache/apt/archives/base-files_7.1wheezy7_sparc.deb (--unpack):
unsupported dependency problem - not installing base-files
Errors were encountered while processing:
/var/cache/apt/archives/base-files_7.1wheezy7_sparc.deb

Can anyone help me with this issue, i nead server for mysql and www server so i want to make it works!

If you actually have v4 (etch) and you have changed your sources.list to wheezy (v7) skipping over 2 releases, then you are in for a lot of problems.
You would need to upgrade through each release in turn (this is possible as the repo's are archived and available) although a fresh install is probably the best bet if you just need it working soon.

Hello

this is my debian version:

linux:~# cat /etc/debian_version
4.0

So which sources list i must use to upgrade to debian 5?!

Agree.

The release notes explain the upgrade process.

if you already have installed wheezy packages then upgrading could be problematic.

its complicated for me, :) can i upgrade from usb (i dont have cd at my SunFire v210 with sparc)?!

The easiest path would be to borrow an external CD-rom from a friend. If not, you are in for a lot of work.
