systemd has its own logging system called the journal; therefore, running a syslog daemon is no longer required
I checked in the task manager from Debian 8.6 Jessie and indeed i noticed that a syslog program "rsyslogd" is running.
From Synaptic i found that the package is called "rsyslog" and i can mark it for removal. It has no dependencies. I like not to have many running programs, all the more when they are no longer required because i have little ram here.
Removing the rsyslog package seems free but i`ll ask before doing anything.
Since systemd is installed in Jessie and it has its own logging system, is safe to remove the rsyslogd service?

Probably but you can simply disable the .service instead -- I always do this with jessie systems because `journalctl` is so much more useful than the old logging tools.
Check which systemd unit files are enabled to start at boot with:

You should check the output of my suggested commands, there are quite a few unneeded .services running in Debian by default that can be safely disabled to save a few cycles & bytes.
