I
I was doing regular updates now dpkg is stuck and does not want to pass that stage. I waited hours and it does not seem to be doing anything.
4.9.0-1-amd64 #1 SMP Debian 4.9.6-3 (2017-01-28) x86_64 GNU/Linux
Setting up initramfs-tools (0.127) ...
update-initramfs: deferring update (trigger activated)
Processing triggers for initramfs-tools (0.127) ...
update-initramfs: Generating /boot/initrd.img-4.9.0-1-amd64
Is there a way to finalize this process so that I can install some other packages.
thanks

Stuck Setting up initramfs-tools (0.127) update-initramfs
Re: Stuck Setting up initramfs-tools (0.127) update-initramf
Yes, sorry I forgot to mention. I thought that uname gave that information already. Sorry about that.bw123 wrote:That's a testing version, would that be correct?

Re: Stuck Setting up initramfs-tools (0.127) update-initramf
It could be due to many things. Have you searched the web for anyone with a similar problem and tried their solutions, if any?
As a wild guess, how much free space do you have in /boot?

I seached the web and I could not find anything substantial regarding this issue.

How about running the update-initramfs command with the verbose flag so that you may be able to see where it get stuck?
(Pulled from one of the many hits resulting from a simple web search)
Also, is this a new install of Stretch or an upgrade from Jessie?
