[jessie/xfce] Accented characters in XIM

#1 Post by sucablyat »

I am working with four keyboard layouts (as defined in the .bashrc file by

Code: Select all

setxkbmap us,gr,ru,ar -option -option compose:lwin -option grp:alt_shift_toggle
.
Moreover, I have xsunpinyin installed, which is part of Xim (X input method) and with which I can type Chinese/English using the US keyboard layout.

What I would like to achieve, but have not been able to achieve up to this point, is having xsunpinyin activated and set to English with a US keyboard layout, and then be able to type accented characters like one would use in French, Spanish, Hungarian etc.

For some reason, deadkeys do not work anymore and also the compose key functionality fails.

Any help?
