I have a Debian Jessie:
Code: Select all
# uname -a
Linux debian 3.16.0-4-amd64 #1 SMP Debian 3.16.43-2 (2017-04-30) x86_64 GNU/Linux
I use XFCE, RAID1 btrfs for /, ext2 for /boot
My problem in investigating the root cause, is that I don't reboot often (several months up time - while using suspend to stay green). I updated the nvidia drivers (without rebooting). This is my best bet. I am prudent, so before upgrades or updates of dangerous packages, I do snapshots. Actually, I have this one:
So, I restored this snapshot from the Debian LIVEDVD, but it is the same, and also for the previous snapshot. So I do suspect /boot, for which unfortunately I have no snapshot, to have been modified.root-2017-05-27_14-55-57 : before upgrading nvidia drivers
What are your suggestions please to fix this ?
