LTSP - Strange behavior

#1 Post by khr »

Hello,

I am testing LTSP on Debian Stretch and Ubuntu LTS for an upcoming project.

I was following the guide on the wiki <https://wiki.debian.org/LTSP/Howto> which apparently is outdated as NBD is now used instead of NFS on Debian.

I was expecting the two distros to behave the same, but on Debian the client appears as a copy of the server "fat client" and not a chroot. E.g I see the servers network config when I run ip addr show on the client. On Ubuntu the client appears to run as expected.

I hope somebody can explain the differences between the config on Debian and Ubuntu? :-)
