At the moment I have Debian with XFCE installed. So far the system seems to work fine. I only have odd issues with my wireless. On at least 4 different systems (2 Debian, 1 Ubuntu 17.04 and 1 Windows 10) the same wlan access point gets recognized like all others and can be used reliably.
I don't understand what the issue could be. I attach some diagnostic outputs. Maybe the output triggers ideas for solving the problem in your heads:
