Hi,
In debian 7, will configure name in /etc/host,
Example: /etc/hosts
192.168.205.1 test-pc
when running a who -u, it shows the name configured in /etc/hosts in debian 7. works perfect.
when running a who -u in Debian 9, not display the name configured in /etc/hosts, display the IP.
what's different about debian 9 from debian 7 in this configuration?

Are you sure that you mean the command who with the parameter -u?https://manpages.debian.org/stretch/coreutils/who.1.en.html wrote: -u, --users

Hi,
can be without the parameter too, the result is the same, debian 7 shows the host name, debian 9 does not show.

Hi,,
this only occurs on the SSH connection, TELNET shows the hostname.
