Updated to stretch when it was released. Yesterday I accidently selected hibernation instead of shutdown, but to my suprise, resume worked again! And has worked, now about five succesfull resumes.
I guess much mocked systemd did the trick.

Resume works again!
During jessie, my old subnotebook, Samsung NC10 did not resume from hibernation. Resume went to 90% and after that always rebooted. I had some issues that required resetting bios. I thought it was hw problem. and after that always have done shutdown.
