Ethernetports as switch

#1 Post by brononius »

Maybe a strange question, but I've got 1 server with 8 ethernet ports.
I use only 1 ethernet port as a trunk towards my switch.
This switch is full. And of course, I need some extra ethernet connections.
I was wondering now if I couldn't use the 7 remaining ethernet ports on my server as switch.

Any idea/suggestion how I could do this?
Of course, would be great if you could configure the ethernet ports as a real switch (meaning, trunks, access vlan)...

I never tried it but I'd assume you could bridge the ports in a similar way as vm ports are done?
