I have tried to use other forum solutions like clean apt and others but no luck. I do not want to install it directly. What to use Debian repo.
Thanks!

Install Synaptic, and in its settings, for Distribution have it prefer packages from backports. Then try the install in Synaptic..

Remember to revert that setting if you disable the backports repo.

...
This should not happen, pkg uninstallable means sources.list is messed up?

Also I tried to install synaptic. Maybe because I have KDE plasma

Code: Select all

igorice@sunderstorm:~$ sudo apt install synaptic
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
Package synaptic is not available, but is referred to by another package.
This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or
is only available from another source

E: Package 'synaptic' has no installation candidate

Hello guys! Thank you for your suggesting. I am moving forward. I have found the problem with the sources.list.

Code: Select all

deb-src http://ftp.uk.debian.org/debian/ stretch main

deb http://security.debian.org/debian-security/ stretch/updates main

you could verify that multiarch is enabled, then check missing pkgs available with apt policy:

Code: Select all

dpkg --print-architecture
apt policy libglu1-mesa:i386
:i386 is a suffix, not a prefix. "pre" means before...

Spend some time getting to know apt, even if you want to use synaptic, understanding some basic things will be helpful.
