Power drain from audio card

My Thinkpad X1 Carbon gen3 used to have 7+ hours of autonomy. Not anymore (but I don't know when it changed).

When looking at powertop screen, I see more than 3W consumed by "Audio codec hwC1D0: Realtek". I searched the web, and I found that it happens when all channels are not muted.

So I stopped PulseAudio.

I also noticed the config from alsa-config (in fact the output of /proc/asound/card1/codec#0)

Can you over-ride that?

If it helps add 'snd-hda-intel options power_save=1' to a configuration file under /etc/modprobe.d/ (but you probably already know that).

Or perhaps try powertop's --auto-tune option: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Po ... y_settings

power_save is already at 1. I forced that:

I also tested powertop's autotune, without any change (tunables were already good).
