I broke my graphics installing Nvidia over Nouveau

#1 Post by dotrosedotnet »

I was trying to get my T520 to work with external monitors, but I definitely borked it.

Can anybody lend a hand?

Here's the log from startx: http://ix.io/2eNl

You haven't built the NVIDIA kernel module.

Don't use that, it's obsolete and broken.

Delete the configuration file and build the module. Use the nvidia-detect package to determine which driver version is needed for your card and use the module-assistant package to install all of the packages needed to build custom kernel modules.

Search the boards for more help, there have been *many* threads about this. I won't be posting in this thread again, I'm not even supposed to be helping NVIDIA users.
