Trying to build my own kernel

Postby jgauthier » 2020-04-25 12:12

Following these instructions for a pristine kernel. ... n-official

Compilation of the actual kernel is okay, but then there is a post-process, debian-specific issue.

Code: Select all
make[2]: *** [debian/rules:6: build] Error 2
dpkg-buildpackage: error: debian/rules build subprocess returned exit status 2
make[1]: *** [scripts/Makefile.package:77: deb-pkg] Error 2
make: *** [Makefile:1417: deb-pkg] Error 2

I took a look at line 77 of the referenced makefile.

Code: Select all
        $(MAKE) clean
        $(CONFIG_SHELL) $(srctree)/scripts/package/mkdebian
        $(call cmd,src_tar,$(KDEB_SOURCENAME))
        origversion=$$(dpkg-parsechangelog -SVersion |sed 's/-[^-]*$$//');\
 77-->               mv $(KDEB_SOURCENAME).tar.gz ../$(KDEB_SOURCENAME)_$${origversion}.orig.tar.gz
        +dpkg-buildpackage -r$(KBUILD_PKG_ROOTCMD) -a$$(cat debian/arch) $(DPKG_FLAGS) -i.git -us -uc

I'm not really sure what to do with this information or how to proceed.

The line could also be failing because of the preceding line, in which the origversion variable is set from the sed line (or somewhere earlier for the same reason).
