Setting up a Qemu for MsWin Os

Postby debianneedstuning » 2020-08-09 10:00

Does anyone have a walk through/set of steps for setting up and accessing a WinOSs on Qemu.?
That they can share.

I'm trying to plow through the doco, but it s overwhelming, plus i've completely forgotten what I did about a decade ago. Seeing how some one else does t should be sufficent to clear the brain fog.

Top search engine result for "QEMU Windows guest":

https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/QEMU/Windows_guest

See also https://www.linux-kvm.org/page/WindowsGuestDrivers (second result).

Pro tip: learn to use a search engine, it's generally faster than asking on support forums.

A bit more searching turned uo the following two urls which gave me what I needed
https://linuxhint.com/install_qemu_debian/ for settig up and
https://stackoverflow.com/questions/233 ... g-on-15901 although the viewer connection isn't working, so a bit more searching.

Is this a remote guest? Why are you trying to use VNC? Although no MS stuff I do run a couple guests locally for testing etc. I run them in full screen on a virtual desktop one at a time.
