Any PHP guru on the list - debian stable php 7.3 mysqli

Postby syscon » 2020-10-25 18:27

I switched from php 5.6 to php 7.3 on debian stable and now I have a problem with "mysql_connect() or mysql_query()"
These function apparently had been deprecated. But it can be solved with mysqli extension.

Apparently php-7.2 includes mysqli extension but not php 7.3 (debian stable)
Anybody knows how to fix it? I'm running osCommerce 2.2 so fixing all "php" is not an easy job.

I was told I should use: mysqli or pdo_mysql instead.

In php 7.3 php.ini there is a line:
Code: Select all
;extension=mysqli

I can un-commencement the line, but what next?
