nvidia card not recognized as opencl device

Postby morgon » 2020-12-24 02:11

Hi,

I am running testing with kernel 5.9.0-3 and have a Nvidia GT 1030.

I had this working with a previous kernel-version but currently my GPU is not recognized as an opencl-device (it works fine as graphics card).

clinfo only shows my CPU.

I have nvidia-opencl-icd installed - what else do I need?

Many thanks!

Are you using Nvidia proprietary driver? I'm not sure about opencl but you'll have to wait for nvidia-driver version 455.xx to get CUDA support for kernel 5.9. Earlier kernels should still be fine until it's available.

Yes proprietary driver.
I don't need cuda, only opencl.
