i210 dual network adapter - Kernel upgrade problem

Postby skeffen » 2021-01-08 14:07

Dear all

I am running Debian stable.

When I upgrade my kernel from 4.9.0-9-amd64 to a higher one, fx 4.19.0-13-amd64 one of my network adapters is not working. (The first is is still working).
It says "UNCLAIMED" is lshw. They are both on boards NIC of the type Intel I210.

Any one of you had a similar issue ?

I have tried updating the igb to newest version. I get a hardware initialization error for bus address 2.

When I boot into the old kernel again (4.9.0-9-amd64) it works perfectly.

In advance thank you vey much for your support.

Please post actual terminal output rather than vague descriptions.

How did you do that, exactly? Please post actual commands rather than vague descriptions.

Have you checked dmesg & the systemd journal for any error messages when booting the newer kernel?

Can we see
Code: Select all
lspci -knn | grep -iA2 net
