I want to run my debian machine as a FTP server & I am not sure what guys recommend as an easy server software for Debian.
Can someone please let me know what they recommend I use?
I want to be able to upload and download files from my Debian machine via work or off site.
Thanks!

apt-get install vsftpd will work just fine. The config for it will be at /etc/vsftpd.conf
The conf file has a lot of comments that will make configuring the FTP server fairly simple. If you need any help with it, just google for vsftpd and you'll get a lot of results.
And I agree that vsftpd is the best FTP server!
