im using the most current testing release of Debian
it installed kernel 2.6.8.2 as a default
because I have had problems with grub I choose Lilo instead. Now what I have readed hear in the forums this kernel is broken and so I decided to update it to newer one 2.6.12, I installed it thru synaptic. Synaptic didn't update Lilo so the kernel change didn't really happen. So how to do this and automate it.
As for sound i readed that with out 2.6.12 no sound....
and when I tried to install samba I got odd errors..
To the point how to tweak lilo, samba, and alsa
