battery indicator

I just installed Debian on my laptop and there is no battery power indicator, is there any way to get a battery power indicator on a PPC laptop?

Gnome or KDE?

In Gnome, right-click on a taskbar and add a battery indicator applet. I'm not sure about KDE.
