network prob

#1 Post by colliedunk »

Hi there, I've recently installed Debian and have a crappy networking problem - when I try to configure my machine's IP via the GUI it always hangs and I have to kill it!! Now this happened to me before and when I edited a configuration file manually it was resolved (I noticed that the file was corrupt). Now I can not rem this files name :-(
It's the file that has
DEVICE=eth0
ONBOOT=yes
BOOTPROTO=dhcp
Can someone please tell me the files I need to change/check to get dhcp running.

Thanks,
James.

Check /etc/network directory.

It should be there. One of them.
