Cant get lm-sensors to work

#1 Post by fher98 »

Hi everybody, I've installed Debian Etch on my machine(toshiba satellite A75-S125), mainly because the soundcard and video wont work on Sarge. Now I have my fans spinning around all day, ok so I went to forums read a little about this and then installed lm-sensors, ok then I ran the following
#lsmod | grep sensor

i2c_sensor 3488 0
i2c_core 22336 2 i2c_dev,i2c_sensor

# sensors-detect
No i2c device files found. Use prog/mkdev/mkdev.sh to create them.

Cant seem to find this mkdev

Please help me out, this laptop was a huge investment for me and I dont want the fans to break or something... thanks to all

You solved one problem and found another.

Etch is extremely prone to break a system.

Unless you're a tester (and for testers there are other better forums and lists), I'd suggested you to go back to the stable and try to solve the problem of your sound and video cards that don't really seem to be a big problem at all.

Cheers.
