Touchpad Configuration

#1 Post by Guest »

I recently put debian on my toshiba satelite notebook. During the installation process I failed to click "detect mouse" and now I have to use an external mouse rather than using my touchpad. It did not detect my touchpad. The other time I installed debian, during the installation I selected "detec mouse" and my touchpad worked fine I didn't need any drivers.

How do I get it to detect my touchpad?

Try this: Open up a console, become root, and type modconf. In modconf scroll down to kernel/drivers/input Input Devices and select mousedev. Next, while still in modconf, scroll down to kernel/drivers/input/mouse and select psmouse. You might need to reboot after installing these kernel module.

Joy, too, is fled.
