Synchronizing clock

#1 Post by Goodman »

I used Redhat for some time and one the features I liked was the "program" that synchronized the clock with some time server some where. So my Gnome clock will always be excactly on time.

I was wondering if this cool tool was availible in Debian too.

I don't know if Redhat uses this one, but with Debian you can use ntpdate to update (or synchronize) your clock.

Or you can use the 'rdate' program, which can set the clock according to a server with the 'time' port (TCP 37) open.

Libranet has a button to synchronize time in the Adminmenu tool.
