LaTeX under Debian

Hi  ,
the easiest way to install/use (La)TeX under any Unix is the tetex-installation. Check in dselect if you have installed
required
1. tetex-base
2. tetex-bin
optional
3. tetex-doc ;; many usefull pdf- and dvi-files for documentation
4. tetex-eurosym ;; as the name implies-use of the (new) EURO-Symbol
5. tetex-extra ;; iamong others hyperref for PDF/html-generation!
6. latex2html
7. hyperlatex ;; easy way (via emacs-elisp-file) to generate html
;; out of .tex-source!
8. pdfscreen ;; use pdflatex for generating .pdf-files for presentations
9. latex2rtf
latex2rtf-doc
rtf2latex ;; packages for im- and exporting documents t/from Word :?
10. txfonts ;; use Adobe Times&Helvetica!
and some more (sophisticated :P ) packages (for advanced users/special needs).

Hope this helps,

jürgen
